Pacifier Success

I know, I know, you shouldn't give them pacifiers, but talk about life saver! Kade has finally figured it out and will keep it in his mouth for awhile before spitting it out. He loves to suck his hands and thumb, so I am encouraging the pacifier so it will be easier to take away in the end.

New Favorite Resting Spots!

Over the weekend, Kade had some very fussy moments. So dad decided that we would go and get a swing to see if that would calm him down. Fortunately, so far so good. So here he is in his new favorite toy.

Kade has also found another new favorite spot, dad's chest. He loves to rest on Nate's chest and fall asleep, and as you can see, Nate also loves to sleep in this position as well!!!

Raider Football week 5

Kade in his new outfit for another Raider football game. The picture is hard to see the outfit, but it says "Starting Quarterback" on the jacket and the onsie looks like plays from a playbook. We had gone shopping with Grandma Stenzel and this was just one of many new outfits in Kade's closet!!! Unfortunately, we were not good luck for the Raiders, they lost again. They play at home this weekend, so we are hoping home-field advantage will give us some luck!!! We'll let you know.

The first "real bath"

Kade's belly button stump finally fell off, so he got his first real bath today! He actually love this compared to the sponge baths. After washing the hair, we discovered what I figured was inevidable...CURLY HAIR!!!! When his hair gets really wet, there are tons of curls!

Raider Football

Kade has been quite the sports nut this week. We went to a volleyball game at the high school I work at on Wed. The girls fell in love! Our volleyball team won a huge game which was nice to get to see! Then on Friday we headed out to the gridiron for some Raider football. Unfortunately we lost 3-7 on an interception.

Kade's 1st football game

Kade went to his first AFC Raider football game on Friday night. I didn't take the camera to the game because it was two and a half hours away!!!! I felt like we were moving out with all the stuff we took! He slept most of the game, but we had to leave during the varsity game because he got a little crabby. The Raiders have a home game this weekend, so I promise there will be pictures!

Meeting Uncle Chris and Aunt Kristin

Over Labor Day weekend, my brother Chris and his wife Kristin were home to meet the newest member of the Girton family!! They are both very excited about their nephew. On Saturday night, Grandma and Grandpa Stenzel came over with Uncle Chris and Aunt Kristin and we had a cookout at our house. They brought the food and cleaned up the mess, I wish all meals were that way! Then they did the same thing on Monday morning, they brought over brunch. Along with the food, they also brought my grandparents so they could meet their newest great-grandchild.

Kade's 1st bath!

Kade got his 1st bath at home last Saturday. He absolutely hates taking a bath. We found out it is a great way to wear him out if we want him to sleep!!

"The Nanny"

This is Kade with his 1st "nanny." Sunshine follows wherever Kade goes. She is the first to let us know if he is crying, she will go and check to see what is going on! She loves to just sit and watch him. Our other dog, Midnight, is really not that interested in him at all.

During our stay in the hospital Kade and I had a lot of visitors. Both sets of grandparents and Nate's sister were the first to welcome him!!!

Kade is here!!!

Well he is finally here. On Monday August 28, 2006 at 6:27pm, Kade Matthew Girton was born! He weighed 8 lbs 15 oz and was 20in long. We ended up having him the non-conventional way, emergency c-section. So things were a little scary for us right at the beginning of his new life. Nate was able to be in the delivery room, and then he got to take him down to the nursery to give him a bath and do the footprints for the baby book. Meanwhile, I got to see him for a second, and had to wait to finish the surgery! So here Nate and I are as new parents!!
