I empty EVERYTHING :)

Our new favorite game is empty all containers onto the floor. It doesn't matter what it is, he will empty it for me and then chew on all contents! Here he is "helping" me put his laundry away! He also knows that he needs to smile for the camera, how crazy is that at 8 1/2 months!!

Mother's Day

For Mother's Day we had both sets of parents over and grilled out. I had a wonderful 1st Mother's Day!

Play Ball

Kade loves to play with balls and so do the dogs. You can see Midnight sneaking up on Kade. Kade likes to chase the balls after the dogs push them. Then the 2 dogs get rowdy and bark and go crazy after the balls and Kade laughs! It doesn't take much to entertain him.

Kade's new friend

This is Kade with his friend Ella. This is my friend Margaret's baby. She is a peanut!

Cards vs Cubs

This post is for our favorite Cubbie fans, in case there is any question who are talking about, your daughter's name is the intersection at Wrigley! We thought we should send a picture of the latest Cardinal fan! Well the first meeting is over and we came out ahead 2 games to 1. We'll see what happens next weekend in St. Louis. Nate didn't want you to forget who the WORLD CHAMPIONS are! Love you guys!!!

Kade's new playground

I didn't get the fridge shut all the way and Kade decided he needed to explore. Later on in the week, daddy was fixing the ice maker and Kade snuck in to help and check the fridge out again!

Look Mom I can stand!

This week Kade has started pulling himself up and standing. It doesn't matter where he is. This is the first time he got all the way up. He is hanging onto Sunny's collar, that is what he pulled on to stand up! He now wakes us up in the morning yelling because he is standing in his crib and hasn't perfected the art of sitting down.

Easter at the cabin

Here we are out at the cabin right before the visitors from the north headed home. At the begining of the weekend, Kade had some anxiety about Uncle Chris and Aunt Kristin, but just check out the smile by Sunday.

Hunting Eggs

Kade wasn't really in to hunting the eggs as much as he was into eating them. The "Easter Bunny" came to my parent's house and hid eggs that looked like sports balls. Kade loved them as you can see. Then we headed out to the cabin and hunted the real thing. He did pretty well, but we did drop a couple as you can see in the last picture. We can't wait until next year when he understands a little better and can hunt on his own!

Coloring Easter Eggs

Over Easter weekend Uncle Chris and Aunt Kristin were home and we all colored eggs on Saturday afternoon. Kade just wanted to eat the eggs, so we had to give him a plastic one so he wouldn't get the dye all over his already broken out face! He had a bad allergic reaction to who knows what for Easter. Doesn't it look great!

Like Father, Like Son

I caught the boys hanging out today and cracked up. They both got haircuts last night which isn't that noticeable in the picture, but boy do they look more alike now. They have the same hair line, except Kade's is curly! And then to see them like this watching TV, I think SportsCenter! Could you die!

Spaghetti time

Kade got to try spaghetti over the weekend. Needless to say it was very messy. He also wasn't very fond of it. He kept spitting it out and gagging on it. Better luck next time!

Ballin'

Kade was "helping" me clean his room, he started dumping his container of balls out and playing. Notice it looks like he is going after the basketball, however he is playing with the soccer ball!!! Oh yeah, mommy likes to see that!

Cup Time

Kade's big accomplishment today...he can use a cup. He has been getting so upset during feeding times because the bottle just wasn't fast enough. So today while I was out shopping, I bought some little cheapy cups to try and he was a champ. He took 3 oz before he started just chewing and playing, so he had to drink the other 3 oz from the bottle. He definitely likes the cup better!

6 month pictures

These are just a few of the pictures we had taken for his 6 month birthday. The pouty face was one of the last pictures that were taken. Nate and I see this face A LOT!!! This means "I'm done" no matter what is going on if we see this face, pack it up or it will get ugly! I can't believe how fast 6 months goes. I'm sure the next 6 will fly by just as fast!

Playing at Grandma and Grandpa's

We were at my mom and dad's over the weekend and Kade wanted to play with the laundry basket. Don't ask me why we spend so much money on toys when they are fascinated by common household items!

AFC Basketball Banquet

Last night was the AFC Basketball Banquet, our first with Nate as the head coach. He hates talking in front of crouds, so he was very nervous to say the least. He made it through, and did just fine. Kade wanted nothing to do with being there from the second we got there. He was fussy, so he got his 1st "cookie" which I didn't know make the BIGGEST messes ever! After it was all over, he was in a good mood as you can see in the bottom picture. Hopefully he will be better next time!

Wild Hair!

Lately Kade has been waking up with the most wild hair dos. We aren't sure what he is doing at night to create such masterpieces, but I thought you might get a kick out of them!

Sorry about slacking!

Hey for all our devoted viewers, I know we have been slacking, but Kade is so active that a picture doesn't cut it. I have several short clips on the computer that I am trying to figure out how to publish. When I accomplish this, there will be more things to see. He did get his 6 month pictures taken today, so I will put those on here as soon as we get them. We also have a few outings this week, so I will TRY to remember the camera. Sorry, I promise to be better!!!!

The lost is found!!!

Well, I just wanted to put an update on our missing dog situation. Some of you already know, but Midnight is back home where she belongs. She took a long road trip into the city on Sunday night, but we received a call Monday morning letting us know she was safe and sound in Waukegan, IL (which is about 2 hours from here). So our family is whole once again!

Hard day playing

Kade has really started to like his playtime. He has several "favorite" things to do: the jumperoo (in earlier pictures), "play" sony with daddy, roll on the floor with his toys and the dogs, and LOVES to watch basketball with daddy. If I am home with him alone and he is fussy, all I have to do is put him in the jumperoo and turn on the sports. Instant fix! Aren't boys great!

Let it snow

We have gotten a lot of snow in the past few weeks. No not like you Amanda! Just 5-7"! So I thought it was time for Kade to see it. Well as you can see in the first picture, he is not sure about it...then when he fell forward into the snow, not so happy!!! There was a lot of screaming.

I like to feed MYSELF!

Kade really likes feeding himself. Sometimes it is helpful, other times not so much. He tries to lick the bowl clean, and then when you take it away...melt down - see the picture! He will hold his own bottle, but he doesn't hold it like a normal baby...he holds it at the bottle so he can crinkle the bottle liner. What a weirdo!
